Liverpool v Arsenal: the cup week before Sunday’s Anfield meeting

Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday 1 November, with kick-off listed for 16:30 GMT in the Premier League’s fixture amendment. Before the league meeting, both clubs had Carabao Cup fourth-round ties on the calendar.
Those cup matches make for a useful week-in-review, but dates alone cannot tell us how tired a player will be or who starts next. The records give a sequence of fixtures and results; they do not establish a causal link to Sunday’s selection.
Two cup nights, two different outcomes
The EFL round-four schedule placed Fleetwood Town v Arsenal on Tuesday 27 October and Liverpool v Chelsea on Wednesday 28 October. Fleetwood and Arsenal finished level before the hosts advanced on penalties, according to the EFL match report.
Liverpool’s Wednesday tie also went to a shootout. The club’s match report records a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in normal time and a 6-5 penalty win for the Reds. The two cup ties therefore supplied different endings, with each tie ultimately decided by a shootout.
Sunday’s time is the fixture to keep
The Premier League amendment gives Sunday’s Anfield meeting a 16:30 GMT start. It is the clearest cited source for the current date and kick-off. Readers checking older calendars should use the later competition notice rather than assume the original schedule still applies.

What the calendar does not say
The gap between fixtures may invite questions about recovery, but this evidence does not contain a complete player-by-player minutes record, travel details or a full assessment of training load. It cannot show that either cup tie caused fatigue, injury or a change to a manager’s plans.
Nor does a cup appearance establish who will start in the league. A confirmed team sheet, once issued, will answer that question more reliably than a calendar comparison or a guess based on the previous match.
The separate 2.5-goal market quotes three or more goals as Over and zero, one or two as Under. William Hill supplied the complete exact-2.5 pair shown here; other lines are not mixed into this table.
