A defining Milan week: stadium plans, Pulisic’s renewal and derby win

From the Generali Stadium presentation on 29 October to Pulisic’s contract and Milan’s 3–1 derby victory, three confirmed developments shaped the club’s week.
Retrospective · Coverage window: 2026-10-29 to 2026-10-31. Published separately from the original match reports.
Three developments in three days
AC Milan’s week moved across long-term planning, squad continuity and immediate results. On 29 October, Milan and Inter unveiled Generali Stadium as their proposed shared future home: a 71,500-seat project with construction expected to begin in 2028 and an opening targeted for 2031–32, subject to approvals. Two days later, Milan beat Inter 3–1 in Serie A.
Between those moments, Milan confirmed that Christian Pulisic had extended his contract through 30 June 2031. The club’s announcement credited him with 44 goals in 141 appearances since joining in 2023, a dated total at the time of the renewal rather than a live count.

A derby result inside a longer project
Pulisic scored after four minutes, and Adrien Rabiot added a goal in the tenth after a Diego Moreira delivery. Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni pulled one back, before Moreira scored directly from a free-kick to complete the 3–1 result. Opta recorded the win as Milan’s third consecutive Serie A victory over Inter and its eighth derby without defeat across competitions at that point.
The stadium remains a proposal moving through planning, not a venue ready for use. The contract announcement and derby score are completed events; the project dates remain targets. Together, the week links a result on the pitch to a longer-term plan for the clubs’ shared sporting home.
